Doug “Dug” Falk is a composer/musician living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has completed degrees in music from Knox College and communication disorders from the University of Houston. He has studied and performed in many styles of music on trumpet and double bass. Dug’s compositions explore stylistic juxtaposition, boundaries between emotions, and humor in music. His music has been performed by professional ensembles in the United States and internationally. He is currently completing a dual thesis/composition portfolio Theory and Composition master’s degree at the University of New Mexico, studying composition with Karola Obermueller, Peter Gilbert, José-Luis Hurtado, and Patrice Repar and theory with Richard Hermann. He shares a house with his beautiful wife, two wonderful daughters, and an energetic dog.
